UTAH June 6th  2013 /PRNewswire/ –

The Dedication of the Central Utah Veterans Home in Payson, Utah June 6th, 2013 featured luminaries from Utah Government, including the Governor, Gary R. Herbert and Rebecca Lockhart, Speaker, State of Utah House of Representatives. The 23rd     Army Band “Brass Quartet” played military selections and Nathan Osmond, Award winning country singer brought the audience of over 500 people to their feet in song.

The Veterans Home includes 108 private rooms for veterans throughout the State, with a majority from Utah, Juab, Carbon, Emery, Sevier, Millard, and Salt Lake counties. At present, there are over 160,000 veterans in Utah. Over 42,000 reside in the service area for the Utah County facility. Nearly 26,000 of these veterans are over the age of 65, the age group most likely to require nursing home care. This facility provides veterans the ability to receive necessary long term care services in their community without being relocated to Salt Lake City.

Terry Schow, Executive Director, Utah State Department of Veterans Affairs officiated the event, introducing to the audience the stone flagpole surround dedicated to the nursing home by Colonial Flag of Sandy, Utah. The stone features the seal of the State of Utah Veterans Affairs on the front, a quote from Abraham Lincoln on one side and Theodore Roosevelt on the other.

This Spring, Colonial Flag in Sandy, Utah launched its “American Made Monuments” program, as announced by Paul Swenson, President, highlighting the monument stone showroom opening within the Colonial Flag Building 9390 South 300 West off I-15. “American Made Monuments” is a movement for individuals and communities that have a passion for commemorating the greatest among us, both past and present with monuments, flagpole surrounds and stone plaques, well-designed and handcrafted by Americans using all American stonework.

“There is currently a return to community monuments which fit a smaller price point, as well as focusing on the handcrafted and local which reinforces the upsurge of America’s Patriotic Spirit.”  “American Made Monuments are designed to celebrate and support Communities, Veterans, as well as larger corporate, state and federal buildings. The Pentagon Grade Cast stone, durable for generations directly expresses Colonial’s core values. “I’m thrilled that we are able to make ‘American Made Monuments’ available to our clients and greatly look forward to seeing how we can help people create the perfect flagpole surround for their property.” States Paul Swenson
